This Tuesday, April 14, 2015, the Denver Public Library is pleased to host its 15th annual naturalization ceremony at the Central Library. This year's event is a joint effort of the Library's Services to New Immigrants Initiative and its Reference Department.
A library card recently sold at auction for $7500.00. It bore the signature, the earliest known signature, in fact, of eighth-grader Elvis Aaron Presley, and was issued by Humes High School in Memphis in 1948. The King of Rock and Roll had borrowed a copy of "The Courageous Heart: A Life of Andrew Jackson for Young Readers."
This Saturday, March 28, the Denver Public Library's Plaza and Services to New Immigrants Initiative will partner with History Colorado to offer free activities and museum tours for New Americans and their families.

The Denver Public Library Commission is pleased to announce Michelle Jeske as the new Denver City Librarian. She was named the leader of the Library system after a six month national search and assumes her duties March 2.
Community Celebration set for Saturday, February 28, 2015
Denver residents are invited to join Mayor Michael B. Hancock, District 1 City Councilwoman Susan Shepherd, Denver Public Library Commission President Jay Mead, City officials and community partners to celebrate the grand opening of the new Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Branch Library in West Denver.
The Denver Public Library Commission will host an open forum for city librarian candidates on Monday, February 23 from 5–7 p.m. at the Denver Central Library, Level B2 Conference Center. The forum will allow the public to meet the final candidates for the Library’s chief officer.
