To help our customers upskill, the library offers access to the Udemy learning platform for all permanent library cardholders. Udemy offers a wide range of courses in the fields of Cloud Computing, Data Science, Development, IT Operations, Leadership & Management, Marketing, Personal Development, Project Management and Operations.  The majority of courses offer a Udemy certificate of completion.

I spoke with Henry, an aspiring IT professional about their experiences using Udemy.

Henry, what courses have you taken in Udemy?

I've used Udemy extensively, taking courses like TOTAL: CompTIA A+ Certification (220-1001), TOTAL: CompTIA A+ Certification (220-1002), CompTIA A+ (220-1001) Test Prep, Exams and Simulations, CompTIA A+ (220-1002) Test Prep, Exams and Simulations, PowerShell for Active Directory Administrators.

Why did you enroll in these courses?

I wanted to make a career transition to IT and heard that getting the A+ Certification would provide a good foundation. After landing my first job in IT, I'm taking the PowerShell course to learn ways to automate tasks.

What did you accomplish by taking these courses?

I passed both the 220-1001 and 220-1002 exams, which are required to become CompTIA A+ certified. Although getting the A+ is not necessarily required for IT Help Desk positions, I believe it helped me stand out as a job applicant and land my first job in IT.

What else can you share about your experience with Udemy?

I'm super grateful Udemy courses are accessible, and I always promote this resource as much as possible when I run into people who are interested in growing their skills.

Join thousands of other learners who have taken courses like Udemy’s CompTIA A+ training to prepare for their certification exams. Real-world instructors will guide you step-by-step through the skills you’ll need as an IT professional. And you won’t just memorize; you’ll really learn through practice tests, quizzes and hands-on exercises.

Access to the Udemy learning platform is available to permanent library card holders. You will need a Google, Microsoft, or Gale account to sign in to Udemy. To install the app on your device, choose the "Udemy for Business" app and then fill in gale.udemy.com when prompted.
