“Fermented foods and drinks are quite literally alive with flavor and nutrition.” - Sandor Katz, American food writer and DIY food activist.

Denver Public Library presents this workshop on the healthful benefits of fermentation; learn how to bring the special flavors and food preservation of fermenting into your kitchen.

Our Chef Shellie Kark teaches this two-part series on simple fermentation techniques that will help you preserve the bounty of the summer and aid your gut health, too. This demo features great condiments like sauerkraut, pickles and whole-grain mustard -- all fermented. Recipes and samples included.
