About the Library Commission

The Denver Public Library is governed by a mayoral-appointed Commission that provides strategic direction, policy setting, and budget oversight.

Governance: The City Librarian reports to the Commission on strategic, fiscal and policy matters.
Scope: The Commission ensures the library offers the best possible service to the community, but does not manage daily personnel or operational issues.

Regular meetings are held on the third Thursday of every other month at 8:30 a.m. at varying branch locations (see schedule below).

Members of the public are welcome to address the Commission in person during the early portion of any regular meeting.

Sign Up: Use the online form below.
Window: Opens at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday the week prior to the meeting and closes the Wednesday before the meeting at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
Limit: One sign-up per person per meeting.

Time Limit: 3 minutes per participant, which may be shortened depending on the number of participants.
Format: Comments must be made in person at the scheduled branch location. The Commission President will call your name when it is your turn.
Dialogue: Commissioners listen and take notes for follow-up with the City Librarian, but they do not engage in active dialogue during the session.
