November Highlights

Army bicycles

Have you had a chance to look at the November/December schedule of Fresh City Life My Branch events and classes yet? Here are some highlights!

On Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m., celebrate Veterans Day with Army Bicycles: The Ride Stuff at Schlessman. Local, Pulitzer Prize winning author Jerry Cleveland explores how the military has used the bicycle and why it attracted the attention of commanders worldwide.

Family Crafting

Show Me a Story

The time is coming when cool weather will encourage us to remain indoors. If you have children, you may soon hear the dreaded whine, "I'm bored. There's nothing to do!" I'm happy to report that these three books will provide hours of entertainment and family projects.

In a valiant effort to keep my children's screen time down and to preserve my sanity, I often resort to crafting with my kids. It's a good idea to keep some basic craft supplies on hand, but some of these projects may require a trip to the craft store with a supply list in hand. Alternately, try Goodwill or other thrift stores to pick up bags of fabric scraps or yarn, or get together with friends and combine craft supplies. These books are bound to keep little and big hands busy for the winter months. Some of these projects will also make great holiday gifts!

Tiptoeing Towards the Holidays

Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum

While Halloween is behind us, there are many more holidays coming up to celebrate connections, honor our ancestors, and thank our military. Use Fresh City Life My Branch adult cultural programming as a jumping off point for (or a break from) your fall & winter celebrations!

You'll have several opportunities to celebrate Dia de los Muertos in the next few days:

On the Hunt for Ghosts, History, Crafts, and Bread!

SpiritPI

Meet the Ghost Hunters on Wednesday, October 10 at 6 p.m. at the Ross-Cherry Creek Branch! Denver's leading ghost hunters, Spirit Paranormal Investigations, will provide a fun and informative presentation about ghosts and the art of ghost hunting. SpiritPI will share spooky stories about what it's like to investigate the paranormal and demonstrate the tools they use to detect ghosts.
