Play Central: Parents Discover the New Children's Library

We talked to parents about how the Central Library’s new Children’s Library helps them discover new ways their children learn through play. Councilman Chris Hinds shares his excitement for the space, and Children’s Librarian Sam details the new Children’s Library improvements. They are all eagerly counting the days until the Central Library's full reopening!

We invite you to Explore Central and join us as the Central Library begins a new chapter with its grand reopening on Sunday, November 3! A celebratory ribbon-cutting will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. in the beautiful new Park View event space. Starting at 11 a.m., the newly renovated Central Library completely reopens with an all-day celebration full of entertainment and activities for the entire community.

The renovation was made possible thanks to funding from the 2017 Elevate Denver Bond, Denver’s Capital Improvement Fund, the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation, Strong Library, Strong Denver, supported by the DPL Fund, and a Community Project Funding Grant through HUD which is secured through the Congressionally Directed Spending process.
