The Shelf - First Time Access
- When the page opens you may see a popup saying that the site uses cookies. It’s okay to click “Accept” on this popup.
- Click “Login” on the top right corner of the screen.
- Click the “Create new account” button in the “Access your account” section
- Select “United States” from the Country drop down and then type “Denver Public Library” and select it from the results
- Enter your library card number starting with “D0” (D zero) into the Library card number field
- Enter the pin number assigned to your library card. If you do not know your pin number, you will need to get it from a staff member at a Denver Public Library (the pin number is needed only to create the account)
- Fill out your first and last name then click “Next”
- Enter your email address and create a password
- Read and agree to the terms of service
- Click “Finish”
Your account will be created and you will be logged into The Shelf. You will also receive a confirmation email to the address you provided.
The Shelf - Return Visits

- Click “Login” on the top right corner of the screen.
- Select “United States” from the country drop down
- Type “Denver Public Library” and select it from the results in the library field
- Enter your email or Library Card number in the “Email or Library card” field
- Enter the password you created for your “The Shelf” account in the “Password” field - not the pin number associated with your library card
You will be logged into The Shelf.
