Let's Be Astronomers! EDIT: DESCRIPTION HAS BEEN UPDATED. PLEASE DISREGARD PREVIOUS DESCRIPTION.
Limited to 20 participants; ideal for age 4+.
Explore the stars. We will read Star in a Jar by Sam Hay and then learn about the different types of stars and what they need to “eat” so they can shine as bright as they do. Each child will be able to adopt their own star in a jar complete with its very own care instructions.
Each participant will receive
-A plush star in a jar (jars are plastic and stars are made from soft fabric and
hypoallergenic stuffing)
-Care instructions for their star
– This includes information on the kind of star they have and what that type of
star uses to live.
What will your child learn?
1)Participants will understand there are different types of stars
2)Participants will understand that stars need energy from "food" (hydrogen and
helium) in order to shine bright
3)Participants will understand that stars have life cycles and grow older
4)Practice with color matching and recognition
