THIS WEEKSaturday by Oge Mora

In this Book Stars activation, we follow in the footsteps of Ava as she rhythmically explores the days of the week, her urban environment and how to deal with disappointment.

Concepts: Days of the Week, Adaptability, Maintaining Positivity

Book Stars is a fun and unique program that combines literacy with creative dramatics. It provides pre-K and K students with an opportunity to use their bodies, voices and imagination to explore stories. Book Stars promotes preschool literacy concepts by exploring kinesthetic storytelling with emergent readers. Each Book Stars session imaginatively ‘unpacks’ a beloved picture book through reading and theatre-based activities that incorporate tactile and visual props specifically designed for each story.

Each Book Stars workshop is 30 minutes in length and is facilitated by a Denver Center Teaching Artist.
