Event Details
This Hispanic Heritage Month teens, tweens and families will have the opportunity to team up with local photographer Armando Geneyro for a mini studio session to create a family portrait. During this time Armando will document families in a formal studio session at select branches then turn his camera over to allow youth a chance to capture their family from their perspective. Images will be printed and sent out to families after the event. This is the artist's way to celebrate Latino families and provide group portraits to families who may not necessarily have the opportunity and/or means to document their family though high-quality portraiture.

About the artist: Armando is a photographer based out of Denver. He was born and raised in California’s central coast. At the age of 20, he joined the Air Force, serving for 6 years. After his service, Armando graduated with a political science degree from Metro State University of Denver.
He is a versatile photographer who specializes in events coverage and photojournalism. His passion, however, resides in his street-level photography where he is able to connect to his subjects and learn from different cultural perspectives.
Over the last seven years, Armando had documented several Denver subcultures, from the local hip-hop scene to lowriders and cruisers. He also helped found Theyshootn, a collective of photographers who have hosted several visual-based events that celebrate the people of Denver, while collecting resources for the community.
Currently, Armando spends his time mentoring youth through local arts programs and working for Denver Public Schools’ office of Student Equity and Opportunity.
