Event Details

This peer group is for anyone post-diagnosis, whether in treatment or in remission. Family members and caregivers are welcome since uncertainty and anxiety around cancer affect everyone involved.

These gatherings are a safe place to express your concerns and insights, and to listen to others on the journey. Compassion and confidentiality, please. Medical advice and treatment options are not the focus. These conversations go deeper, getting to the core of what we really need, what we really fear, and what we really hope for. Join us for open-minded listening and soft-hearted sharing.

Participate for the full 90 minutes, or for as much time as your energy allows. Meetings take place in person. Masks and social distancing are welcome for the immunocompromised. Online sessions can be found at https://www.meetup.com/center-for-wisdom-and-wellness/events/

Cierra McNamara is a palliative care specialist, death doula, and mindfulness instructor teaching self-care tools for people who are facing critical illness. For over fifteen years she has helped cancer patients and families navigate the emotional minefield of serious illness, exploring what it truly means to be strong and safe. Her online and in-person programs through the Center for Wisdom and Wellness explore what dies and what comes alive in the face of a life-threatening diagnosis.
