Imagine sitting around the campfire, telling scary stories. You jump at shadows and sounds! Now imagine that those stories are actually happening right in front of you, and in some cases...to you! Be there and be ready to scream! (This program is rated PG due to some parts actually being scary).

Come and join us and meet Mary Hernandez, author of "How The Tornado Got Its Wind", as we conclude Hispanic Heritage Month. She will be doing story time for kids of all ages from her most recent book.
Mary Hernandez is a local artist, art teacher and entrepreneur. She has many years of experience as a manuscript coordinator and editor at a children's publishing house. She is also the author of five children books. Mary spends her time teaching art and writing classes at local libraries and schools. She has received the 2013 Teacher of the Year award at CHAC Gallery.
Aspiring detectives are invited to join us Friday, October 16th after the library closes to the public for a teens only event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. We will partake in a Wonderland tea-party style dinner and then you will be challenged to solve the mystery of Alice's murder. Interview the suspects. Search the library for clues. Solve the mystery! Come dressed as your favorite literary character and win fabulous prizes! Registration is required. This is an after-hours event.
Are you a Teen in grades 6-12? Do you already play Magic: the Gathering, or are interested in learning? Join us on Halloween from 1-4pm for a fun afternoon of playing Magic--draft style! (You'll spend some time "drafting" 45 cards to build a deck with which to play.) HALLOWEEN CANDY and SNACKS!!! Feel free to wear a costume, Magic-themed or otherwise.
Want to learn about 3D modeling? Interested in 3D printers? We'll teach you how to use free 3D modeling software (available at tinkercad.com) to create objects that can be 3D printed or even used in video game creation - and you'll get to see a 3D printer at work! We'll take your creations back to the lab and print them out for you to pick up at the library in a week or two.
