Any Denver Public Library branch can gather a set of materials (books, audiobooks, DVDs, readalongs, music CDs) for you to check out and use in your classroom.

Educator library cards are available to both formal and informal educators and provide access to additional benefits, including a 50 item hold limit and extended loan periods. Sign up for an educator card at any DPL location.

Each Welcome to Reading kit focuses on an important skill for new readers to master, including Background Knowledge, Decoding, Fluency and Comprehension. Each kit includes carefully selected activities and questions, and targeted tips for supporting students’ literacy and reading development. Selections may be limited based on availability. Leave us a note or contact your local branch with questions or special requests. Welcome to Reading Kits are currently available in English and Spanish.
