Brain Camp Session Two: Dementia Warning Signs, Risk Factors, and Risk Reducers

In this second session of Brain Camp, we will cover the Dementia Tens: the Ten Warning Signs, the Ten Risk Factors, and the Ten Risk Reducers of dementia. We will explore how to recognize symptoms, what lifestyle elements increase the odds of developing dementia, and the ten things everyone can do right now to reduce risk for dementia or delay onset. We will cover how to broach the subject with loved ones who are showing signs of dementia and discuss guidelines for getting a dementia diagnosis and the benefits of early detection. We will learn about exciting new diagnostic breakthroughs regarding biomarkers and diagnostic tests and tools. We will close with a conversation regarding the emotions that accompany a dementia diagnosis. 

This series will be led by JJ Jordan of Dementia Friendly Denver.

This series is co-presented by Dementia Friendly Denver and the Multidisciplinary Center on Aging at CU Anschutz.
