Our first Colorado Authors Series event of 2012 is with Stephen Singular on Saturday, January 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Schlessman. Mr. Singular is a 2-time New York Times bestselling author who grew up in Kansas. His first book was Talked to Death about the murder of Denver radio personality, Alan Berg.

Remember, Remember -- Poppies for November

On Remembrance Day in Great Britain, the Queen lays a wreath made of poppies on the Cenotaph, a monument in Whitehall that commemorates all the dead in all wars in which British soldiers have fought.

This day of remembrance coincides with similar ceremonies in the United States, Canada, France and all British Commonwealths. Americans call it Veteran's Day.

On Saturday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Schlessman, learn all about the 123-acre urban wilderness in our own back yard, Bluff Lake Nature Center! Bluff Lake is a nonprofit agency that manages a unique urban wildlife and outdoor classroom in northeast Denver. It is home to an abundance of animals and native plants, which thrive in a variety of habitats.

Fresh City Life My Branch has a program for you this week, whether you want to learn about investing your money, training your dog, or just sit back and create a craft!

Our Introduction to Investing will be on Saturday, October 8 at 9:30 a.m. at Bear Valley. This 3-hour beginner-level class describes the fundamental investment principles and how they contribute to investment success. You'll learn basic financial terms, where to do research, what data is important in sources like Value Line, and how to find it. You'll learn commonly used terms that are important for any investor to understand.
