The annual Denver Greek Festival has us all craving gyros, tzatziki, spanakopita but what are the origins of the cuisine and how does it differ from that of the Mediterranean? 5280 Magazine’s food editor Amanda M. Faison will untangle the mysteries of one of the world’s healthiest diets. Bonus: Since olive oil is one of the cornerstones of Greek cookery, Faison has selected Tom Mueller’s book Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil to pair with the program. Pick up the book beforehand and prepare for a book club-style discussion.
