You and your family are invited to join us every third Saturday of the month for art and literacy activities hosted by the Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC), a collective of artists dedicated to promoting Chicano/Latino art and culture.

On Saturday, September 21, we will learn about hand-made paper with origins in pre-Hispanic Mexico and how this paper is used for indigenous paintings. Be inspired and create your own paintings on hand-made paper from Mexico.

The “Sisters of Freedom” is an exhibit of classic and modern poster-art paying homage to African-American women who have transformed their lives, their culture and their country. These phenomenal women--activists, entertainers, teachers and preacher--represent some of the most indomitable figures from the 1800s to the present. The exhibit in its entirety highlights the work of 41 women leaders (as well as 33 Freedom Riders) who have changed the course of history with their commitment to, and passion for, social justice and racial equity.

Space Travel and Robots with Captain Vic
