A reading group for teens in grades 6-12 that meets to talk about books, eat snacks, play games, and have some laughs. Bring your friends! Help us think up a better name for our book club!

Next meeting: Wednesday, April 23, 4:30 p.m.
We’ll eat, talk about "Heist Society" by Ally Carter, and take home the book to read for May.

Check with the reference desk for more details. Registration is suggested but not required.

Do you write poems, stories, blogs, comics, essays, comics, songs, limericks? Join us for the Schlessman Summer of Reading Teen Writing group, where we will talk about writing--ours, yours, everyone’s. Instead of critiquing or “correcting,” we will focus on questioning ourselves about how we write and exploring our writing! It doesn’t matter if you’re at the beginning, middle or end of your project, you just have to be able to talk about it!

Make Your Own Quartz CD Wall Clock Class / Usa un CD para hacer un reloj de cuarzo de pared

Decorate a blank CD with holographic materials, raised glow-in-dark paint & vinyl #'s. Once decorated, you will assemble the working parts of the clock! - battery holder, wall hanger & clock hands. Each teen will leave with a "working" CD Wall Clock that does function. For grades 6 to 12. This program is limited to 15 participants. Registration is required. Please call to reserve your space.

Inspired in part by Charles Mingus’ legendary jazz workshop twenty-five years before, Tom Tilton formed the original 8-piece Collaboration ensemble, featuring strong arrangements, great players and a big concert sound, the group has performed in various incarnations and only on special occasions since 1981.
