Found Object Sculpture: Art Workshop with Simone Maxwell

Simone Maxwell, a talented Art Students League of Denver faculty member, will offer adults, parents, and children a demonstration of sculpture made from found objects. These workshops are an excellent way for the community to meet local artists and gain insight into their success. Take advantage of this great opportunity to observe artists that will inspire you to tackle your own challenges and obstacles with your own goals while creating your own art. Free materials are available throughout the month for use.

Saturday Sessions-Fingerstyle Guitar with Jon Sousa

Jon Sousa will give a one hour performance on guitar and tenor banjo, with repertoire mainly stemming from Traditional Irish music, but including some Jazz and Classical. Jon’s passion for music has taken him all over the world from the beautiful countryside of France, studying with master fingerstyle guitar player Pierre Bensusan to Senegal, West Africa, studying Sabar drumming and a lengthy sabbatical in Ireland in 2008 where he refined his skills in interpreting Irish music.

(age 12-19) As part of International Games Day @ Your Library, we're fielding a team to compete in the International Minecraft Hunger Games! Come test your skills at survival against other teens - the winning boy and winning girl will represent us at the National Hunger games tournament on Sat 11/15. This event will be in the Large Classroom on Level 4 of the Central Library.
