Born in Peru, internationally recognized guitarist Manuel Molina, began his career as a musician at a very young age. At age seventeen, he became the youngest conductor of the Peruvian National Symphony. He travels extensively and plays solo guitar tours all over the world. Denver Public Library is pleased to be hosting Manuel Molina for this afternoon of exceptional Latin solo guitar.

Join Denver Public Library for a fun live competition, Battle of the Books: a dramatic read-off, at the Denver County Fair. The contest begins at 4 p.m in the Geek Pavilion at the Denver County Fair. The fair is held in the National Western Complex, located at 4655 Humboldt St. in Denver.

“Is it always safe to pet a dog? This course teaches children how to meet a dog by practicing some basic steps. They discover what an animal’s body posture may be communicating about how he or she is feeling and how respecting an animal’s feelings will keep everyone safe.” This program is for kids K – 5th grade.

It is fitting that Michael DeLalla will be playing us into the cooler months. His cool guitar concert kicked off our 2014 concert season; he is back for an encore performance of his solo guitar compositions and arrangements of traditional tunes gathered from his cultural explorations. Hailed as "one of the very best acoustic guitarists in the world" by All Music Guide, Michael DeLalla blends his jazz, Celtic and folk stylings in a memorable performance.
