Kick-off the MLK Holiday and Black History Month events with a meet and greet. Special guests include: writer Marcus Gardley, director Chay Yew and cast members.

Homer's epic is retold through a soldier's homecoming from the Afghanistan War, his journey interwoven through the African American experience using magic, music and poetry. Light Refreshments will be served.

Author Nancy Peterson discusses her new novel. In the upheaval of 1942, the small town of Hiram’s Spring suddenly becomes home to a B-17 Bomber training base, then a German Prisoner of War Camp. The Axis powers seem unstoppable. With her brother fighting in North Africa, and fear and suspicion rampant, ten-year-old Sis struggles to understand who is friend and who is foe.

Weaving Workshop: God's Eye / Taller de tejido: Ojo de Dios

Come learn the basic hand weaving technique used to create the “Ojo de Dios” (God's Eye) symbol. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to play with color and is a great hands-on activity for all ages.

This workshop is presented by Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC), a collective of artists dedicated to promoting Chicano/Latino art and culture. There is no cost to attend and light refreshments will be provided.
