Temporary Closure of the Children’s Library

The Children's Library at the Central Library closed on Monday, November 28 for the installation of new carpeting, as part of the City’s Capital Improvement Projects. The project will be completed ahead of schedule and will now reopen at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 5.

Beginning November 16 through early 2012, new carpet will be installed in Level 1: Burnham-Hoyt room, Children’s Library, and Level 4: Community Technology Center.

Because of the complexity of the installation, the Children’s Library was closed to ensure the safety of the customers, however all other affected areas will remain open.

The following services will not be available during the closure:

  • Teacher sets
  • Storytimes

During this closure, a Children’s Librarian will be available at the Level 1 Information Desk to assist customers with locating materials at other branch Libraries.
