I borrowed this classic parenting book to read on my Kindle.  The original book was published in 1976.  As I read the book, I was reminded of how much our world has changed since the 1970s.  The book is written in a more formal style than most current books and the content reflects some dated views on family and gender roles.  But even though the book seems old-fashioned, it has a lot of wonderful information and practical wisdom.

Your Two-Year-Old: Terrible or Tender provides an in-depth look into the minds and actions of two-year-old children.  Stages of development and the emotional life of two-year olds are explained in detail.  The book also gives you specific techniques for living and working with two-year-olds.  You can learn what to do and what to say to deal positively with a two-year-old.

Parents and people working with two-year-olds will appreciate the knowledge and advice in this book.   If you like Your Two-Year-Old: Terrible or Tender, there are others in the series.  Louise Bates Ames has written books about children ages one to fourteen.

I wonder if this book will help the terrible twos become the terrific twos. Children at that age can be so hard to deal with..."no" is their new favorite word. Many of my friends are new parents so this might be a good book to prepare them for what lies ahead.
