I grabbed this book because of the intriguing title. It got off to a little bit of a slow start for me, but I felt well rewarded for sticking with it. When 12-year old Conor O'Neil encounters a banshee in his Boston neighborhood, it means that someone in his family will die. With the help of his friends, family, and Ashling the O'Neil Family Banshee, Conor makes a journey to the Underworld in an attempt to stave off the inevitable. I enjoyed the humor and inventiveness of this fast and easy read, which throws some Irish history and world mythology into the entertaining mix of modern technology and ancient belief systems.
