by Jack Prelutsky

Reviewer Rating:

From the same team that brought you “Behold the Bold Umbrellaphant” this selection of poems is actually more clever than the first. The illustrations mimic a scrapbook, bulletin board  or museum display diorama, making the collages and text work together very effectively. This time Prelutsky changes the meaning of a word by the mere addition of a letter. Sardines become stardines and buffaloes change into bluffaloes. It’s a fun game to imagine your own creatures once you’ve enjoyed the creatures in this book. The humor is sneakily enjoyable for all ages and the collage  illustrations fascinating.
