Humorous Steampunk. The main character, Alexia Tarabotti has a sharp tongue and quick wit. I gobbled up The Parasol Protectorate series up like candy.

This is the first installment where we meet Alexia Tarabotti. She doesn’t fit the ideal of Victorian English womanhood. She is a spinster and is modeled after her deceased father’s swarthy Italian looks. She is bold in her opinions and voices them. And she is soulless. The trouble starts when she accidentally kills a vampire.
