Rhine is nearing the end of her life and finds herself hiding from her father-in-law with Linden and Cecily.  Rhine continues to struggle with her conflicted feelings toward Linden but is preoccupied by finally finding her twin brother, Rowan.

But Rowan's alliance with a violent underground movement has put him directly in the path of Rhine's father-in-law, who is relentless in his pursuit of the cure for the virus.  As Rhine and Rowan grow closer together, she catches glimpses into a world beyond what she knew at the mansion, or at the Carnival, or even in Manhattan.  In fact, the world beyond challenges everything she ever knew, including about herself, her past, and her future.

The conclusion to The Chemical Garden trilogy is a true page-turner, as tragic as it is breathtaking.
