by Ron Carlson

Reviewer Rating:

Ron Carlson's original craft book suggests tips for beginning (and advanced) writers to help them complete a story.  His tone is casual and friendly, and accomplishes just what an Olympic ice-skater does: he makes a triple Axel look easy. Carlson makes his readers think, All I have to do is "stay in the room” and I'll have a witty story!  While Carlson forgets that he’s an exceptionally gifted writer, he also provides helpful ideas on how to push through the hard parts of writing that are familiar to more fledgling authors.
