Reviewer Rating:

Carrie Vaughn is a Colorado author who writes the "Kitty Norville" series. "Kitty and the Midnight Hour" is set in Denver, Colorado. Kitty is a midnight DJ who hosts an advice/talk show geared towards the paranormal. Kitty is paranormal herself. She has been a werewolf for about 3 years. She is sharp tongued, witty and funny. But she got some big problems in her personal life. First,  her pack is severely dysfunctional. Secondly, there is a rogue werewolf killing people on the loose. And she outed herself as a werewolf on the air.

I like Kitty Norville as a character and I am happy to see her standup for herself by the end of book. But the level of graphic violence was uncomfortable and painful for me. I'm reading the second novel, "Kitty goes to Washington." I hope I can recommend that book more highly than the first in the series.
