Reviewer Rating:

Here’s a sunny tale of a typical working girl in London who receives an inheritance that allows her to escape her life in the PR world to use her skills at home remodeling in a remote part of the country. Kate becomes involved with the family of the local squire and all the accompanying horses, hounds and genteel events. That money and politics are vital is no surprise, but Kate naturally has all the skills and background needed to blend in and make her way. The pubs, neighbors and countryside are portrayed with the same gentility and grace as Kate exhibits making this an appropriate read for romantic readers who want slightly more modern versions of Jane Austen style romance.
