Prince Yarvi is glad to be joining the Ministry, he can leave his family behind and become a no-one, easier than being a half a man. Born with a withered and incomplete hand in a land of warriors Yarvi is lucky to be the second son, never expected to be the king. Then his father and brother are tricked and betrayed: poisoned during a diplomatic mission. Now Prince Yarvi must become a king and avenge his family. But his first battle as king does not go well, and he ends up in the sea. From here Yarvi's life just gets worse, and the only thing that keeps him alive is his desire to wreak vengeance upon those who've wronged him. Gritty, complex and fast paced, just the Abercombie we fell in love with.
