by John Green

Reviewer Rating:

John Green is the toast of the YA literary scene. His tragic tale, The Fault in Our Stars, is the story of two teens (Hazel and Augustus) who fall in love after meeting in a support group for kids with cancer. Green gives an unflinching and often humorous look at these two characters, making them both courageous and human. It's a tearjerker for sure, but for all its fans I found the book pretty uneven overall. Sometimes when Hazel and Augustus go on their philosophical tangents it becomes painfully obvious that their characters in a YA novel written by an adult man. But when it's good, it's good.
