Reviewer Rating:

This book centers around six kids from a small fictional town called Tackleford in England. Ostensibly the book is about the kids' quest to solve the mysterious events that have occurred on the local football (soccer) field which has been recently bought by a Russian oligarch. Along the way though the kids deal with bullying, class struggles and their own budding hormones.  Though some of the references may fly over the head of the average American reader (the Russian billionaire for example is a parody of a real-life Russian billionaire who bought a soccer team in England), some of the situations and themes are universal and would appeal to any tween or teen.
