by Patrick Rothfuss

Reviewer Rating:

When I saw that Patrick Rothfuss, best known for the much-loved and on-going Kingkiller Chronicles series, was publishing a picture book for adults, I have to admit I was intrigued. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle: The Thing Beneath The Bed. The princess of the title has acquired a baby brother, much to her annoyance, and she tires of taking care of him and tries to shake him off whenever the opportunity arises. But when he is taken away, à la ‎Labyrinth, she decides she ought to go looking for him. Twisted, deceivingly simple, and containing plenty of gore and morbid, the book offers three different endings, letting you decide the fate of the two children. I recommend this book to anyone with a dark sense of humor, or fans of Rothfuss.
