Images of the San Luis Valley taken by Dana EchoHawk. In her book San Luis Valley, Ms. EchoHawk writes, "in Southern Colorado, rural life-ways, traditions and culture languish between what life was like in the past and the progress of today's faster pace. Residents of San Luis, San Francisco, San Acacio, Manassa and the other small communities in the San Luis Valley have histories going back more than five generations, connecting them to the land and their religious traditions."
