The master of weird, Fritz Lang, directed this atmospheric film that tells a dark story of an off-kilter writer who finds himself in trouble with the law and his own morality. “House by the River falls into a long line of Lang thrillers, in which a person innocently involved in a killing covers it up, only to find themselves at the center of an ever tightening web of investigation.” -- Mike Grost. This film is free to watch on the streaming service Kanopy which you can subscribe to using your library card. Not a Kanopy member yet? Grab your library card and get started here.
