Little Brown Skin Girls

Program Type: Exhibit
Ages: Adult

Little Brown Skin Girls is a phrase that was commonly ‘tossed’ around in the family of artist Lia Nelson-James. It was used as a term of endearment as well as identification. This exhibit gives a voice to girls/women of color, telling stories or recounting a tale of positive perspective on the varied aspects of skin hues, hopes and dreams yet to come.
