Join DPL and Think 360 Arts for Inside the Artist’s Studio! This series gives older adults a behind-the-scenes look at an artist’s life, vision, and business. Local artists will take you on a dive deep into the art-making process of many different art forms, live from their studio! Learn, grow, and meet new people with some of the best artists in Colorado today.

About the artist:

Brenda Jones has taught art for all ages, from children to college students. She has worked in Jefferson County Public Schools and is currently living in South Fork, Colorado, focusing on studio practices and working with the Creede Art Council community activities. Her narrative ceramic sculptural and slip cast works have been in numerous shows across the country and are represented by Abbey Lane Gallery in Creede, Colorado. She has a Masters of Arts in Art History and Ceramics from Wichita State University and has been a resident of Red Ledge Clay Center in Montana as well as a Fulbright Summer teacher in both Argentina and Japan.

Brenda is interested in developing each student’s personal story through the process of working with clay. She works to build confidence, self reliance, imagination, and creativity in each student, who will learn the key skills of building, finishing, and reflecting while creating work in clay. This engaging medium helps students to make connections with art throughout time and across curricula. Brenda’s instruction focuses on individual creativity, problem solving, and encouragement.
