Visual narratives like film and graphic novels render memory and meaning through elements of design including color, composition and symbolism. Join film professor John Anzalone for an in-depth look at the Persépolis series (including film adaptation) by author/artist Marjane Satrapi and Freedom Hospital: A Syrian Story by author/artist Hamid Sulaiman; translated by Francesca Barrie. Discover how visual storytelling translates memoir for shared understanding.
