Program Description

Event Details

Sick of watering your lawn? According to the NRDC, lawns consume 3 trillion gallons of water annually and a study published in Environmental Management estimates turfgrass covers over 40 million acres.  Commercial and residential turf represent the single largest irrigated crop in America according to a 2005 NASA study.

Horticulturist Rahman Minhas will guide us through methods to kill (or at least reduce) your lawn and replace it with native grasses and forbs.  He will also cover things like native grass seed mixes, native plant communities, ways to retain water in your property, soil and weeds.
