This month: A Fistful of Dollars (1964)

An unnamed roaming gunfighter arrives in the small Mexican village of San Miguel, in the midst of a power struggle between the town's sheriff John Baxter and the unruly Rojo brothers. When a regiment of Mexican soldiers bearing gold is waylaid by the Rojo brothers, they hire the gunfighter to join their gang. Before long, he begins to play one side against the other, leading to an inevitably violent end.

Join us for a two part series! First up: this Sergio Leone landmark western, a remake of Akira Kurosawa's samurai masterpiece Yojimbo (1961), which we will then screen as our late-July selection.
