Event Details
Join us for a special screening of Stand By for Failure, a compelling documentary exploring the groundbreaking work of Negativland—a legendary multimedia collective that has spent over four decades challenging the boundaries of art, copyright, and cultural commentary.
Through their provocative use of sound collage, media manipulation, and live performance, Negativland reimagines mass culture into unexpected forms that inspire, entertain, and question the very fabric of ownership, propaganda, and perception. From infamous lawsuits to influencing copyright reform, this pioneering group has left an indelible mark on art, activism, and media literacy.
This event is presented by Collective Misnomer (CM), Denver's premier artist-run project showcasing contemporary sound, video, and performance art. Founded by artist Adán De La Garza, CM has become a vital platform for time-based art, with a strong commitment to supporting queer, women, and BIPOC artists.
