Alicia Bailey, Director, Abecedarian Artists’ Books and
Brian Trembath, Special Collections Librarian, Denver Public Library
On display through December 31, 2019

On view in the Gates Reading Room July through December is an exhibition of contemporary artists' bookworks created by artists from the United States,  the United Kingdom, Canada, Egypt and Australia. The exhibition includes work from the Denver Public Library's Douglas Fine Print Collection alongside works lent by the artists for this exhibition.

Beautiful and enticing objects, artists' bookworks are often described as  artworks realized in the form of a book. This particular exhibit focuses on works that present a balance of word and image in which the content, or topic of the book, conceptually and functionally supports the object's structure.
