The writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez said, “It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams.”

In this weekly poetry workshop, we’ll explore how poems by Mary Oliver, Sharon Olds, Ellen Bass, Robert Frost, Maya Angelou, and many other poets can guide us to celebrate the aging process, dream new dreams, and live joyful lives. We’ll also learn some fundamentals of poetic craft, write new poems, and get feedback on our work. The workshop will meet on Zoom until the last session, when we’ll have the option to gather in person to read a poem we’ve written in the class and celebrate together.

This event is for week 2 of a 9 week series-- to find the other dates, click here. This virtual workshop runs on a drop-in basis, meaning you are welcome to come to as many or as few sessions as you like. Register here for Zoom link.
