Ideal Ages:8 to 12
Our virtual book club will be held Tuesday, August 17 at 4 p.m. This month we will be featuring Melissa's Story (George) by Alex Gino. Ideal for ages 8-12.
Book Explorers Kit: Those interested in attending book club are invited to pick up a Book Explorers Kit from any branch library location starting the first week of August. Please note there are limited quantities available and they are being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Picking up a kit is not required to attend book club. Attendance may be limited due to staffing.
What to bring: Some of our activities may require paper and coloring markers or crayons. Please have these on hand before you join our book club session.
Note: Participants who want to change the way their name appears on the screen must do so before entering the room through their myaccount.google.com

You can be a Book Explorer! Book Explorers is a free program exploring books and fun enrichment activities for elementary school kids from kindergarten through fifth grade. Book Explorers connects eBooks and print books, online discussions and activities, virtual book club meetings, and take-home kits. It’s like a book club for kids that you can do anytime, anywhere. Find out about other Book Explorers stuff at kids.denverlibrary.org/book-explorers.
- Look online for new books posted each month.
- Ask at your local branch library for take-home kits (supplies limited).
- Join us online for virtual book club discussions with library staff and other kids.
All virtual programs have automated voice to text captioning available. If the program you are attending is hosted with Google Meet, view these instructions. To request a sign language interpreter or live captions for a program hosted on Zoom or in person, contact SignLanguageServices@denvergov.org or 720-913-8487, with a three (3) business-day notice.
