Celebrate Winter of Reading with a virtual evening for book lovers! We'll talk books with James Mustich, author of 1,000 Books to Read Before You Die, the compulsively readable, entertaining, and surprising book that celebrates the greatest books of all time, from Harold and the Purple Crayon to the works of Shakespeare to sci-fi classics like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? There’s something for every reader. Each of our five local luminaries will battle to advocate for their favorite books, vying for the hearts and minds of the audience members (you!). The audience will then vote to name the champion.

Our panel of literary gladiators includes returning champion and local author David Heska Wanbli Weiden, Westword staff writer Conor McCormick-Cavanagh, the co-executive director of Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition Julie Reiskin, local author Ausma Zehanat Khan, and the Denver Art Museum's curator of modern and contemporary art Rory Padeken.

All Battle titles are available from The Bookies! Click here to order.

Registration is required below. Please note, this event is 6:00-7:00 PM MT/8:00-9:00 PM ET. This event will be hosted on Zoom, and you'll receive an email the day before the event with the link to join. You can download Zoom ahead of time at https://zoom.us/download
