Please join artist and educator Jennifer Ghormley in this hands-on workshop as you make colorful greeting cards using only the materials you find around your house. We will learn some color theory, think creatively, engage our imaginations, and consider how we might transform ordinary items into a work of art.
This is just a simple list - you are free to expand as you wish:
Paper – all kinds of paper, even as basic as typing paper, brown paper bags, colored construction paper, tissue paper, old greeting cards, wrapping paper, etc.
Adhesives – this means anything that will bind or attach one thing to another – such as scotch tape, masking tape, glue stick, stapler, needle + thread from a sewing kit
Something to draw with – can be as simple as a pencil, or pen, marker, colored pencil, crayon
Cutting devices – scissors or X-acto blade
Any other art making, crafting or other materials you have that you might want to play with
Optional: a few images on-hand for reference. If you have an inkjet printer at home, maybe have a few prints nearby that you feel OK with cutting up, or drawing on.
About this series:
Art After Noon brings professional artists from throughout Colorado into your own home through Zoom to teach art and provide engaging, unique experiences. Designed specifically for people age 50+, these drop-in classes will inspire creativity and connection and will help you build artistic skills, all by using materials that you can find in your pantry or cabinets. Over the course of this series, we will explore printmaking, watercolor, collage, and other multi-media art forms. Each class is designed as a standalone experience -- come to as few or as many as you like. You must register for each one individually.
