Try out a new creative project at home with the ideaLAB. Celebrate Valentine's Day by crafting a unique card for a friend or loved one in this online follow-along session.

Learn about basic electronic circuits while crafting a light up card with copper tape, a battery, and an LED.

You can use supplies provided in an ideaLAB Take & Make Kit or your own supplies from home. 

To get an ideaLAB Take & Make Kit: stop by Hadley, Hampden, Montbello, Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales, or Sam Gary Branches and request a kit starting Saturday January 30. Supplies are limited, first come first served.

To follow along with the project you will need:

  • A printed template on 2 pieces of cardstock, a pdf is available here
  • 5mm copper tape (~15 length)
  • 5mm LED
  • 3V button battery (CR2032)
  • LilyPad Button Board (optional)
  • Piece of wax paper, parchment paper, or vellum
  • Decorating supplies (stickers, markers, etc)
  • Hobby knife
  • Scissors
  • Tape or stickers
  • Optional ruler

This is a casual learning environment, and makers of all skill levels are welcome.
