Virtual Memory Cafe is a fun place to socialize, relax, and engage with people experiencing memory loss and their families/caregivers. Each cafe has a focus—such as music or art—to facilitate the main goal, which is a social connection for individuals with shared experiences. At the Memory Cafe, you can just be yourself -- without worrying about remembering or forgetting.
Today's Theme - Denver Museum of Nature & Science Presents: Treasure Hunt through the Museum’s Collections.
Description – What do a plastinated caterpillar, an ancient Maya hot chocolate frother, and an African toy made from a beer and olive oil can, all have in common? You can find them all in the touchable collections of Denver Museum of Nature & Science! In this session, you’ll go on a virtual treasure hunt with Jeff Stephenson, education collections manager – moving massive shelves on wheels, opening cupboards, and peering into drawers to discover iridescent feathers, the bones of ancient creatures, and unexpected cultural objects. Jeff will share his favorites – and then ask YOU what you want to see!
