Romance of the Paranormal Variety

We have all been inundated by vampires as love objects but how about a few of their other supernatural brothers? There is more to paranormal romance than just bloodsuckers. There are Djinn, Werewolves and Barghests oh my! Not to mention some others that are just "other."

While not your average bodice rippers, here are some great reads to get you ready for RomCon next week!

Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler is the first in a wonderful series that introduces Jane True, a selkie who never knew. Now she finds herself in a whole new world, and while her first love interest is a vampire, there is someone else lingering at the edges that just might be the one!

Ill Wind: Hot cars, Hot djinn, Hot weather, hot hot hot! The Weather Wardens by Rachel Caine is a great series!

Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn provides all your local supernatural needs: vampires, werewolves, and Denver late night radio. What more could you ask for? If you like these make sure you check out Carrie Vaughn's other books, she's great and she's local!! It's like the locavore diet for readers!

Wicked Appetite by Janet Evanovich: Diesel is... well... Diesel, he's also smoking hot. He appeared as an ancillary character in the Stephanie Plum Between-the-Numbers books but now he's busting out just like he busts out of his perfectly worn, soft with age jeans.... mmmmmm Diesel!

Also, if you haven't picked up Gail Carriger's The Parasol Protectorate series yet jump to it! Soulless introduces us to Alexia Tarabotti who doesn't have a soul, but trust me that's not as bad as it sounds!

I've wanted to read the Weather Wardens series for a while --but am put off by the fact that we don't own book 2.

The library will look into trying to get these older titles for our collection, but we can't guarantee they are still stocked by our vendors. Feel free to donate used but clean copies of any of these titles by dropping them off at a DPL location with the note "ATTN CDO" attached to the book.

Another one! How could you do this to me! I read Kitty and the midnight hour, enjoyed it a lot, and I go to get the next book--and DPL does not own it!!!!
